In Sunday School today, we talked about temple worship and how it can be a bit overwhelming the first time. When Elder Lee Woods went his first time right before he left for Guatemala, his experience had a different result. True, he did not quite understand everything going on there, but instead of being overwhelmed, he hungered to go back and learn more. He tried to go again the next day but couldn’t because of last minute mission details, but as soon as he could go again down in Guatemala, he was eager to participate and learn more.
In his last email, he tells of a discouraging experience when investigators dissed him and his companion and losing their appointment book to boot. Heads hanging, they went back to the bus stop to find it and met a man who had found their book. Guided by the Holy Ghost, they began to teach this fellow right there at the bus stop. He committed to go to Church that Sunday. Leave it to the Lord to bring about good even in the discouraging moments.
