Lee has been taking some friends advice seriously in preparing for his mission to Guatemala. One of his good buddies said he wished he had studied the New Testament more because it was the one book of the Bible people knew most about. So, Lee is prioritizing his New Testament study; starting with the book of Matthew, then the books to the Corinthians and then, probably, Revelations. I like a man with a plan.
Lee has been volunteering as pianist for his seminary (Scripture study class) and now is brushing-up on his musical skills for his mission. One never knows when music will help people get in the mood to learn about spiritual matters.

Thursday, June 5, 2014 – Today is the day our little family has been anticipating and dreading at the same time. Anticipating because our son, Lee, is ready and anxious to serve; dreading because we want him to be safe and we, here, will miss him dearly. Lee (aka, Meister, Lee-Lee, Son, Big Guy, Woodsy) has received his mission call for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Guatemala Retalhuleu Mission in an official letter signed by Church president Thomas S. Monson.
Friends and family were here to hear the announcement. We expected about 15-20 people to show up but over 40 came, not including Oovoo and phone calls. Our basement was packed with young, giggling bodies. Our hearts were full of warm goodwill. It was exciting to realize all the love and support Lee has generated in his few eighteen years.
Guatemala, here he comes!
My name is Suzy and this blog is dedicated to our son Lee.
